Mr. Aakash Chatterjee from TWX visited Ramgarh in Rajasthan.

The most beautiful structure in Ramgarh, Shekhawati is perhaps the opulent in the Chhatri (Cenotaph). The Ram Gopal Poddar Chhatri is one of the magnificent Chhatri build in late 1872. The chhatri has extraordinary murals, especially in the dome with scenes divided into three broad groups – The Ramayana, The life of Krishna and Ragamala Paintings. This is an chhatri on top of old Masonic structure with an inverted lotus type of pinnacle in the main dome. There are almost 500 murals in this elaborate chhatri. Indo-Persian style of architecture is evident in Poddar Chhatri made up of bricks and stone.
